Brownie advice column

What advice would you give to Tamara?

I am Jewish and we don't celebrate Christmas but all my friends do and I feel really left out.  Help!!

Tamara

Think you have the answer? Send in your advice and we'll post it on this page for everyone to read.

How does it work?

It's so easy to post a message to other Brownies. Just click the post a message now link below and you will be able to put your name and message into the box, you can even add in smileys too!

We will then check your message to make sure everything is ok, this normally takes about 12-24 hours.

We will try our best to make sure it gets online quickly. Please remember to be patient.

If you have a question about guiding or the Girlguiding UK website, please contact us directly as we cannot reply to questions posted here.

Happy posting! :)

you shouldnt worry because i have different people in my class and i dont care who they are or how they celebrate why dont you tell your friends and show them how you celebrate so they can learn to celebrate different stuff and they can show how to celebrate in their way it will be great!!!!!!

If you are Jewish , just tell your friends how you celebrate Hanukkah whilst they celebrate christmas.

don't worry!
why don't you send your friends a christmas card, then they will feel like you respect and understand their holiday, and may even do the same for you!
im sure they feel the same when it is your religious holiday, wish them a merry chrismas and then have a good day yourself!

i think you should invite your friends round and show them that when they are celebrating christmas, you have a differnt life. they will then understand that you dont celebrate like they do and hopefully try and do things that mean you dont get left out. happy holiday

Almost all of the people in my school are Jewish and I don't go to a Jewish school, everyone feels equal and no one matters, hopefully it is the same in your school, good luck.
